A Modern Silk Road Connecting West and East
Xi’an, China Trade and Investment Symposium Generates Million Trade Volume and Long Term Business Cooperation
Fremont, California, August 17, 2001 - Held at the Fremont Marriott today, the Xi’an, China Trade and Investment Symposium was well received by the Silicon Valley business community.
Over 250 business executives came to take the advantage of negotiations on projects with more than 50 Chinese businesses face-to-face. Long-term business relationships were also sought by American companies who rarely meet a big group of Chinese counterparts in the local area. It was a “Win-Win” event for Xi’an and Silicon Valley. Signed trade contracts in industrial manufacturing and commercial services totaled a trade volume of $40 million.

The Xi’an City Government expressed its appreciation to the Mayor of Milpitas, Consul of the Consulate General of the PRC, Fremont City Council Members, and Project Managers from the California Technology Trade and Commerce Agency. Mr. Zhang Longhu, Assistant to the Mayor of Xi’an Municipal Government gave special thanks to CHINAnUSA.com for publicizing the event to US businesses and coordinating event promotions and logistics.
At his welcoming speech, Mr. Zhang Longhu urged all participants to take full advantage of business opportunities presented before them in hopes to further increase the exchange and cooperation between Xi’an and US business counterparts. He also voiced his hopes for a successful turnout at an upcoming trade promotion event to be held in Xi’an. Mr. Zhang Longhu announced a formal invitation to the 11th Xi’an Investment and Trade Forum to be held from September 4 to 9 in Xi’an International Exhibition Center.
Deborah Yang, a reporter from World Journal, the largest Chinese Newspaper in North America, felt that this Xi’an trade and investment event successfully serves its purpose for two reasons. First, the Xi’an delegation organizes local businesses that brought product samples as well as collateral of company brochures and open projects written in English and Chinese. Second, through CHINAnUSA.com’s integrated event promotions via web-presentation, email, fax, print advertisement, and press releases, US participants were well informed of event details and benefits. The company breaks language and network barriers for foreign trade missions like Xi’an.

CHINAnUSA.com customizes solutions for events and trade shows from conception to completion, including event planning, collateral design, prospective attendee database generation, promotional and PR campaigns. “Helping Chinese delegations to host trade events in the US is critical to enhance trades between China and USA. It also ties with our business philosophy of connecting the supply and demand in the marketplace. With China’s looming entry into the WTO and Beijing, China hosting 2008 Olympics, business vitality is definitely on the rise. We hope to assist other cities in China to host more events like this to capitalize the potentials in the market,” said Jerry Shih, CEO and President of CHINAnUSA.com.
