Fremont, California, September 21, 2001 - CHINAnUSA.com welcomed the Jiangxi delegation from China today. The meeting was centered on the IT industry and cross-border trade. Both parties discussed plans for technological transfer and talents exchange programs. Strategies and directions for assisting local Chinese enterprises in international trade were also discussed.
Mr. Yang Guiping, Vice President of Science and Technology Bureau in Jiangxi Province, China, indicated special interests in organizing a trade and investment promotional event in the U.S. The main purpose of such an event would be in recruiting IT professionals to Jiangxi.
Jiangxi Province generates most of its business from manufacturing of metal and ceramics due to resources rich in minerals such as tungsten ore, copper ore, coal and iron ore. Engineering also plays an important role in the Jiangxi economy.
According to Yang, the province’s industrial strengths and solid foundation would support a smooth transition from traditional industries to technology-based industries. A major factor in accomplishing such an evolution would be the culmination of qualified IT professionals in Jiangxi Province
